We have come here
to have a conversation with ourselves
to see ourselves
To do this we had to
leave ourselves behind
Not only did we agree to this
we knew it was an honour

We are one with our Creator
Therefore we are our creator
Therefore we came here
to see ourselves as a creator
Therefore we create everything

But because we are still learning to see
we cannot yet understand
how and what we are creating
We create with unborn awareness
with a gestating consciousness
So the Self we are most afraid to witness
is reflected to us
all around us
everywhere we turn

Our own darkness plays out boldly
and we become frightened
of our own shadow
so we push it away
call it names
blame it for our suffering
We make ourselves its opposite
and we raise our voices in anger
as we attempt to prove
just how innocent we are

We ask others to join us
wanting them to help us
feel better about choosing
to feel so terrible
And so we all create together
one melting unconscious state together
and the contagion of this fear
becomes like a drug
in the veins of denial
until we are awash in separation
too blind to see
our place
in the heart of Source, Goddess, God

And then something happens
a blow to our own heart
cracks us open
smashes our defence
like crystal upon stone
and in the gap created there
despite our terror
we dare to let a little light in
enough to shine gently
in our own mirror
enough to catch a glimpse
to begin to see
to name our own fear

This new vision
is an act of profound courage and liberation
This is the beginning of the end
of our suffering
The opening in our hearts grows
and as it does
more light creeps across the threshold
more heart-breaking truth is lit up
finally visible

Like the sun at dawn
consciousness rises
and with each passing hour
our shadows
the ones we have feared so much
begin to shrink
wicked witch under water
vampire in daylight
they lose substance
and like the mirages they always were
they disappear

And without this attachment to shadow
with no monster-self to fear
separation refocuses into connection
All the blame we once held for others
has nowhere to land
because there is no Other
Only the Creator
the creator within
which we all are

Seeing ourselves
Finding ourselves
Having conversation with ourselves
and in this place
as we dare to listen
every word
is LOVE.
